I was enduring a very hectic 2 days of travel on airplanes. I was on the last leg of my trip and of course my last flight was waiting on the runway. No jetway, so I had to walk to the plane. That meant climbing the stairs with my very heavy camera bag and dealing with the usual rudeness of people pushing and scrambling for position. Does it really matter? We’re all getting on the same plane that can’t leave until everyone is on board.
As I was climbing the stairs, the line of people boarding in front of me stopped. Perfect because it was now starting to rain. So here I am standing on the stairs, patiently waiting my turn to board. I’m tired, bored and now wet, trying to remain calm. I then glance over my right shoulder and see the perfect shot.
I am directly in-line with the airplanes engine and it looks super cool. I can feel the cold, wet surface of the engine. Of course I have no access to my real camera, so I take the shot with my iPhone.
Wow, was I surprised when I made a 24 by 36 inch acrylic of this shot. The quality is outstanding. This photo made my trip a memorable one!
